A few years ago I got involved with a program that was just getting up and running called Magic Set Editor 2. I'd used the original frequently, and quickly came to love the second (which was more easily customized.) The ease of customizing the program by creating templates for it led me to create a VS System template for it. In the early versions it was sailing on rough waters, but with each subsequent update of the program things got easier. Currently every non-stacker style is available, as well as a few custom ones.
The main program download, if you download the full and not reduced version, features all the templates found at the "Official templates" link above and all fonts. To install an mse-installer file, just double click the file and it will open a patch installer in MSE2. Click install, wait for it to finish, and your templates will be available. To install a template from a ZIP file, using a ZIP file compatible program such as WinZip or JZip, extract the files into your data folder (usually C:/Program Files/Magic Set Editor 2/data/). Your templates should now be available.
I'll be adding more styles shortly to try and help this board get running, such as the custom flip style and partially transparent frame.
Hi, how do you put the team symbols in the new cards and how I make new ones?, also I cant paste the logo on the upper right corner you know where the company symbol is (DC, MARVEL) Can you help me with this?
To add symbols go the Set Infor tab and choose the logo you want. The Marvel logo, both versions of the DC logo, and the Hellboy logo are on the list and when chosen will supply all cards in the set with that image. The final option is "Custom...", which will insert a small image box where the logo would be on each card that you can load an image into. If you use custom, you'll have to load the image for every single card, it's not a on click operation like the defaults.
As for the adding of team symbols, it's complicated and not something I really want to get into now as the system is undergoing reconstruction and may change rather drastically soon. Right now the changes are minor, but Pichoro and I are adding options to the VS game file to make it more user friendly and it may force us to change the system.
Changes in progress currently include: 1) Improved frames in the new style - proper equipment frame. 2) Automatic team symbols in text in the new style. 3) All official teams and card types on a drop down list (something seen in the briefly posted "fix"), but with an added "Your Teams" list that remembers what you've used for teams in your set for quick reference - THIS INCLUDES CUSTOM TEAMS.* 4) All keywords and hopefully perfect bolding - I've never been able to get this to work right all the time. Pichoro seems to have figured it out, but I won't guarantee it's 100% perfect because I've made that mistake before and don't want the feedback that goes with it. :P * 5) Program remembers flight, range, etc. when switching between new and old - and area icons are set by default based on textbox/frame choice input.*
